My Journey Till Now: Code, Communities, and What's Next

Every developer's journey has a starting line. For some, it begins in high-tech hubs surrounded by programmers. For me, it started in the small town of Dhanbad, Jharkhand—a place famous for its coalfields rather than its compilers.

Looking back at where I started, compared to where I am today—navigating a transition phase as a full-stack engineer looking for my next big opportunity—it has been quite a ride. Here is the honest story of my journey so far.

The Early Days: From Jharkhand to West Bengal

Growing up in Dhanbad, my educational foundation was built at Shishu Vihar, where I studied from KG1 all the way to Class 8. That solid start paved the way for my high school years at Kids Garden Senior Secondary School, where I completed my 11th and 12th standards.

Once high school wrapped up, I made a life-defining move: I left Jharkhand and relocated to Kolkata, West Bengal, to pursue my B.Tech in Computer Science at JIS University.

College Days: B.Tech in CSE at JIS University

JIS University Campus My campus at JIS University, Kolkata—where my engineering journey took flight.

Moving to a new city for graduation was a massive cultural shift. In those early college days, I struggled to fit into the existing cliques. Feeling like an outsider, I naturally gravitated toward other introverts who felt the exact same way. We formed our own close-knit group—a safe haven where we could be ourselves, geek out over technology, and support one another.

Eventually, as the comfort grew, my energy returned. I broke out of my shell, made a large, wonderful circle of friends, and fully embraced the vibrant campus life of JIS University.

Step 1: Getting My Feet Wet (June 2024 – Sept 2024)

By the time my 3rd year rolled around, I was itching to build real things. In June 2024, I landed my very first internship as a Frontend Developer.

For three months, I was introduced to the realities of writing code for actual users. I learned how to deal with responsive designs, debug browser quirks, and collaborate with team members under real deadlines. By the time the internship ended in September 2024, I knew one thing for sure: I loved building products.

Step 2: Going Remote and Full-Stack at Prepverse (Sept 2024 – April 2026)

Immediately following my internship, I got an incredible opportunity: my first full-time, remote role at Prepverse as a Full-Stack Developer.

Balancing college and a full-time remote role was intense. It required disciplined time management, late-night debugging sessions, and a relentless work ethic. Over the next year and a half, I worked incredibly hard, pushing my boundaries every single day:

  • I transitioned from focusing purely on the UI to owning backend services and database schemas.
  • I learned how to build scalable features, write robust APIs, and manage production deployments.
  • Most importantly, working remotely taught me how to communicate asynchronously, take extreme ownership of projects, and learn new technologies on the fly.

My time at Prepverse officially wrapped up in April 2026. The technical knowledge and professional maturity I gained there were absolutely invaluable.

The Transition: High Hopes and the Next Big Thing

Right now, I am in a transition phase. I am taking a brief moment to reflect, sharpen my skills, take on freelance gigs, and search for my next challenging opportunity.

Alongside job hunting, I am also spending this transition phase building and designing developer resources under my brand, Devbuilds—a platform created to speed up front-end engineering with modern, animated components and command-line tools.

It is a unique space to be in. On one hand, there is the natural uncertainty of the job hunt; on the other hand, there is an immense sense of excitement. I have very high hopes for life and a deep hunger to build something truly big in the tech world. I want to work with teams that challenge me, on products that impact thousands of users.

What I am looking for:

  • Full-Stack / Frontend Roles (Remote or hybrid in major tech centers)
  • Freelance Projects (SaaS MVP development, Next.js optimization, custom web applications)
  • Collaborative Teams that value ownership, clean architecture, and rapid shipping.

If you are looking for a dedicated full-stack developer who went from struggling to fit in on day one of college to building production-ready remote software, I would love to connect. Let's build something awesome together!
